Poltava Orphanage № 1
ART FOR ORPHANS Project was initiated by ArteLia under the umbrella of the Ukraine Charity. The project applies the universal language of art to heal, educate and enrich the skills and opportunities of less fortunate children from Ukrainian orphanages.
Workshops are led by a team of Artists and art teachers to educate and empower the younger generation by giving them a voice through the expression of art, by teaching them a sense of self-worth.
The program has been launched in September 2010 in few orphanage schools with 500 children and is determined to expand its activity to up to 10 schools across Ukraine.
The workshops will run thought the whole academic year using the international art materials, generously donated by Sotheby’s, Phillips de Pury and MacDougall’s auction houses, combining with expertise and knowledge of Ukrainian Artists delivering the best traditions of Ukrainian school of painting.
At the end of the academic year, the children would prepare the exhibition and will visit Kiev to attend the Pinchuk Art Centre and other museums to learn the latest trends in contemporary art.
