Marta graduated from Kyiv State of theatrical art. Lives and works in Kyiv, Ukraine. She is young talented artist, a new generation of creative vision who offers viewers a fresh and challenging perspective of what contemporary Ukrainian art is today.
In her art Artist is striving to catch the slipping moment of emotions, memories, inviting a viewer to contemplate on her experience. The unexpected colour composition is somewhat surreal, juxtapose a dream and reality. The images of everyday life are laced into surreal story about the world.
Marta is imbedding polar, paradoxical concepts of our being, our life into her art. In her works immortality is represented as a butterfly, eternity as momentum, and such opposite categories as love-hatred; beauty-ugliness; birth-death; young-old; bogy-soul; day-night, Sun-Moon are just flip sides of the same coin, realm of Unity where brinks are blurred out and where the role of the Artist is too complex to be framed in a limited notion. The Artist is working across different styles and she mastered both figurative and abstract genres. Her works are dynamic and charged emotionally.
Marta Vashchuk works are in private collections in Greece, Germany, Spain, Ukraine and Russia.
